Every Sweet Moment Counts

“Without pain, how could we know joy?' This is an old argument in the field of thinking about suffering and its stupidity and lack of sophistication could be plumbed for centuries but suffice it to say that the existence of broccoli does not, in any way, affect the taste of chocolate.”
― John Green, The Fault in Our Stars

It's just a regular work day for you. You wake up early, trying to catch a decent bus ride. You still need to get some work done. On your way, you feel something missing. Dang! You left your phone at home but going back is not an option since you’re already running late for work. The street is so busy and loaded with pedestrians. Getting a ride is like a big brawl.

You arrive at the office, about thirty minutes late for a weekly meeting. As you enter the room, everyone's anticipating your arrival. All eyes are on you. You think that all your workmates are irritated and disappointed. But instead of irks and frowns, you are welcomed by smiles and bright faces. Your boss starts talking, congratulating you for a job well-done and thanking you for your recent effort. The company you work for just closed a deal because of your work.

What began as a bad day because of a crappy morning turned out just fine. Actually it’s even better than the past days. This is just an example of among a number of unexpected happy turn of events that we encounter every day.

"The sweetest moments in life may not always come with dramatic flair or much fanfare," says Von de Torres, Managing Director for foreign brands of Emperador Distillers.

De Torres believes that these simple yet rewarding times should be celebrated just like those big leaps in our lives. "It is the unexpected turn of events, spontaneous adventures, and everyday experiences that give us the best surprises. Of course, just like any other happy moments, they deserve celebration."

To make these life surprises even more special, she suggests having fun over wine. “Gone are the days when wine-drinking is only for grand events. You can have it anytime you find a reason to celebrate. But it’s only fitting to consume wine that goes well with any reason, season, and occasion.”

Emperador Distillers brings another kind from the number one table wine in the world, Carlo Rossi. A sweet red wine crafted from grapes grown in California’s sun-drenched vineyards and bursting with flavor and aroma, Rossi Sweet Red, is said to be a perfect partner to make every sweet moment count. It has layers of vanilla, bright cherry, and wild raspberry flavor creating a different kind of sweetness.

Rossi Sweet Red is best for these moments as it can keep the day happy, cool, and calm. Of course you don’t want to ruin that good day by getting drunk. With its recommended way of consumption, ‘on-the-rocks’ and its alcohol content, you are guaranteed that you can still feel and experience the better day ahead.

De Torres recommends keeping a bottle or two of Carlo Rossi Sweet Red to be brought out for instances that call for sudden celebration. "Unexpected happy turn of events is an excuse to celebrate. It's always good to celebrate the joyful unexpected. Having a bottle or two of Rossi Sweet Red in your kitchen cabinet or office pantry would be a cool idea."
HIGHLANDS COFFEE: A Taste of Exotic Vietnam in a Cup
Highlands Coffee originated from Vietnam and was brought in the Philippines in 2012  by iPventures Incorporated, the same group behind Netopia, Gonuts Donuts, Kitaro, and Pho 24.
I recently visited Highlands Coffee at their newly opened Pioneer branch.  This new place has a nice atmosphere. A cool place to sit down, chill, and enjoy good conversation over coffee. Plus, they provide free wi-fi connections to their customers.
Filipinos will enjoy its wide selection of quality coffee blends. Highlands Coffee offers modern espresso selections, fruit teas, iced-blend coffees, and their specialty non-coffee freezes, as well as chocolate-based drinks.
If you're looking for a caffeine boost to help wake you up, then you may want to try Highlands Coffee. Its coffee contains about 50% more caffeine than you'd normally get from other coffee shops. Plus, they offer yummy and healthy food as well.  It specializes in traditional and authentic Vietnamese coffees like this one below.
Don't be fooled by the serving size of Vietnamese coffee. It may be small but it packs a mean punch! Make no mistake though, Vietnamese coffee is different from Vietnamese espresso! Rare and uniquely Vietnamese coffee varieties are lovingly cultivated and then processed using traditional methods for fully-developed flavor.
Upon the recommendation of one of the staff, I tried Highlands Coffee's Fresh Chicken Oriental Pasta with Wilted Bokchoy(P149), which has spaghetti noodles, lean chicken, and a mildly spicy oriental sauce. It did not disappoint. It actually became my hands-down favorite dish. This FRESH grab and go dish has ‪#‎nopreservatives‬, very delicious and  flavorful
I partnered the pasta with Rosemary sandwich said to be made from only the best organic ingredients.
Got this cookies and cream flavored freeze for only Php49.00. Imagine that! Two thumbs up!
Next time I visit Highlands Coffee, I'll try their Kamote Crunch I think they're a healthy alternative to junk food.

Highlands Coffee Pioneer Centre is located at Pioneer St (across Unilab), Brgy Kapitolyo, Pasig City.  ‪#‎highlandscoffee‬ ‪#‎highlandscoffeephilippines‬ ‪#‎coffee‬
