RED CHINA RESTAURANT: Offers Popular Chinese Food From Across Asia
Red China restaurant is the newest Chinese restaurant in TriNoma Mall in Quezon City. It replaced the Superbowl restaurant located at the ground level of TriNoma Mall (North Avenue entrance). It specializes in food favorites from Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Singapore and the Philippines.
The owners of Superbowl Restaurant are providing Filipinos another satisfying dining experience with Red China Restaurant which started serving authentic Chinese food favorites from all over Asia at TriNoma Mall only last August 12, 2013.
"There is that promise of a unique and exciting dining experience by serving up a range of Chinese specialties that are certified crowd-pleasers from Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, and the Philippines,” quips Richmond Yang, Red China restaurant's managing director.

I believe Red China restaurant targets the more adventurous diners who wants to enjoy different tastes of Chinese cuisine. Red China serves smaller portions than Superbowl's.

Superbowl serves traditional Chinese food that is already popular in the Philippines.

From among its set of starters, Red China's Bacon Wrapped Shrimp (four pieces at P260) is among those that I like.
I also like the Shrimp Paste Chicken Wings (six pieces at P150).

Among the authentic and favorite Chinese dishes being served at Red China is the Roast Chicken in Mala Sauce from Singapore. It's juicy chicken marinated in a special roasting mix and drenched with spicy Mala sauce.

Priced at P350 for a half serving, which is good for two persons, the dish is best with Yang Chow or Mixed Vegetable fried rice.
Also best with rice is the Chicken Chop (P175), a favorite from Taiwan, served with sweet chili sauce.
The restaurant also has a Roast Collection, including Roast Pork Asado immersed in a special Lao Mian sauce.

Yang said that Red China collaborated with its international culinary experts based in Singapore for several dishes, including the Roast Pork Asado, Shrimp Paste Chicken Wings and Spicy Eggplant.

Other offerings being served are seafood and vegetable dishes and Chinese noodles, particularly the signature dishes Minced Meat Asado Lao Mian (P175)
Red China has a delicious line up of soups and noodle soups. First on the list is Chinese favorite Birthday Noodles (Php180).

Food is served fresh as much as possible to avoid spoilingWe were also able to try its signature soups:
I so love Red China's Scallop Chicken Soup (reasonably priced at Php140).
Apple Chicken Soup Php140
To cap your Chinese dining experience, try Red China's peanut buchi, fresh taho and egg tarts. Other desserts served at the restaurant are Deep Fried Sesame Balls, Mango Sago, Halo-Halo and Grass Jelly with Lychee. I always like the egg tarts in Macau.
Red China said all its dishes are cooked and served fresh and all ingredients are brought in daily to the store.
Red China restaurant yummy drinks.

OFF THE GRILL:10 Years of Great Sound and Great Food
OFF THE GRILL is celebrating 10 Years of Great Entertainment, Great sounds, Good Food and Good Service. I am grateful to have been invited to its media launch last September 10, 2013. It is located at 69 Timog Street, Quezon City. The media launch was supposed to start at 5 p.m. but it started at around 7:30 p.m. and I was there before 3 p.m. They ought to give me an early bird prize. Don't you think so, my dear readers? Ha ha ha!
The delay was brought about by the rains and floods plus the traffic in different areas of Metro Manila. It left me with a lot of time to take a lot of snapshots.
OFF THE GRILL began as a simple idea of having a homey, non-intimidating garden set-up complete with mini falls, fish pond and aquarium.
From the start, they always wanted a place where good people meet,  good food and good live bands playing in the background. The former tenant of the place used to sell roofing tiles. And when the owners visited the place there was a lot of frogs around making noise, according to its Operations Manager Mr. Boojie Sy.
10 years after, Off the Grill is an established resto bar, getting ready for their next big step -franchise. Yes, siree, Off the Grill is opening its doors for franchising in 2014. But before that, the owners want to expand and open five (5) more branches both in the South like Laguna or Cavite and in the North, such as Dau, Pampanga and Subic, Olongapo, so that more and more people can get to share on the OFF THE GRILL experience. Mr. Sy attributes the resto bar's success to God, media, its efficient staff, its owners and its loyal customers.
Off the Grill caters not only to the night crowd but also caters to birthdays, family dinners, business meetings. It opens at 2:00 p.m. then closes at 3:00 a.m.
Security wise, the management installed 32 CCTVs all over the place. It also offers Free Valet parking ( Tip is optional ), 36 Total Car park slots, 1 guard and 2 bouncers. The events place is huge and can accommodate up to 700 people in one seating. The place has cool air circulating even without air con. It also has a non-smoking room.
Boojie Sy, Operations Manager for OFF THE GRILL, is humbled with the kind of following their resto bar has created, “Looking back, we never thought this will be a hit in the market. The owners just wanted to have a place where everything is cool- music, ambiance, food. I guess it’s that kind of “experience” that has brought us to where we are now. And of which the people or the public comes back for- the OFF THE GRILL experience.”
When we asked why they used frog icons for OFF THE GRILL? Boojie says “ well frogs, because of their unique sound, can definitely attract people. Frogs bring in good luck.”
“As you can see from our logo, the three frogs has one holding a bottle of beer, another one holding a microphone and the other, holding a fried chicken. This is translated to our kind of service: great drinks, live entertainment and good food, respectively.”
Known for its live entertainment, great ambiance, excellent food, OFF THE GRILL had lots of changes. Changed for the better of course. Off the grill embraced changes. It has new menu set and all time favorite dishes that are consistently delicious. The likes of the following:
Tuna Belly
Grilled Squid (grilled just right)
Spicy Sashimi
Pork Sisig
Crispy Pata
Buffalo Wings
Bulalo Steak that's just perfect with a bucket of Ice Cold Beer.

Prices on their menu are reasonable. Just take a look:
OFF THE GRILL is one of the pioneers in live bands and acoustics along Timog Avenue in Quezon City. In fact, OFF THE GRILL is home to some of the country’s award winning musical artists. At the “Media Launch,” Off The Grill paid tribute to the country's top performers who jammed with them for the past 10 years.
“We are proud to say that some of our country’s top performers in the music industry started their stints here in OFF THE GRILL,” shares Boojie, “the likes of Side A, Freestyle, Paolo Santos, UrbanNation, Richard Poon. And they are still very much part of OFF THE GRILL.” Through the years, guest performances from MYMP, K24-7, True Faith, Mocha Girls, South Border, Brownman Revival, Princess Velasco, First Five, Duncan, Jimmy Bondoc and Saia continues to add glitter to this one-of-a-kind OFF THE GRILL nightlife experience!
One of the highlights of the 10th anniversary celebration is giving recognition to these artists. And this will be happening on all Tuesdays of September, OFF THE GRILL’s anniversary month.

For its 10th anniversary celebration, a lot is in store for OFF THE GRILL customers.

“We would like to thank God for the blessings, then the public for their continuous support to OFF THE GRILL, our suppliers and our staff and business partners. We would not have gotten this far without them. And we look forward for more fun, exciting years ahead!”quips Mr. Sy.
